On the occasion of what would have been Ella Fitzgerald’s 100th birthday, we are pleased to profile her as well as Billie Holiday in this month’s ENewsletter. Both Fitzgerald and Holiday have been inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. Known as the First Lady of Soul, the Queen of Jazz and Lady Ella, Ella Fitzgerald could sing every genre of music. For more than half a century, she was the most popular female jazz singer in the U.S. Over her lifetime, Fitzgerald won 13 Grammy awards and sold over 40 million albums. She worked with all of the jazz greats including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra.
