The roots of a Black History Month celebration were planted in the 1920s and in 1976, President Gerald Ford designated February as Black or African American History Month. To celebrate, we profile several outstanding Black women.

In December 2020, the National Women’s Hall of Fame held a virtual induction ceremony honoring six amazing women, posthumously.
In last month’s ENewsletter we told you about Mary Church Terrell and Toni Morrison, who were among the six outstanding women inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in December.
All of us certainly miss the many cultural institutions that are not operating in their normal manner during the pandemic. These include theater, opera, the ballet and the symphony.
